A message from Jim:
“You can never truly enjoy Christmas until you can look up into the Father’s face and tell him you have received his Christmas gift”. – John R. Rice
Christmas is a date of birth. Jesus Christs birthday. My family and I enjoy a close time before and on this date. A great deal of time and money is spent on presents, a feast on Christmas day. My family are wonderful givers, fortunately. I am a great receiver of presents, the oldest child in the family.
Mass is attended on Christmas Eve to leave the day free for the family. All gather for presents and snacks, followed by Christmas diner. Generally the men fall asleep in the afternoon.
But where is Christ in this? Where are Mary and Joseph? Where is awareness of God the Farther, placing his Son, which is affect himself into the most dangerous world? Where is the appreciation of the Holy Spirit in this?
This year I will acknowledge this with the family if the opportunity arises. If not, then quietly in prayer among them and on there behalf. I will enclose you all in this prayer. Amen. Fiat Fiat Fiat.
